In out " Brief Memorr of the Rev . Samuel Say , "" p . 5— -7 , we intimated that he had prepared an account of his father , Mr . Oyles Say , for the use of Or . Calamy , which however wasnot inserted in the account of the ejected ministers . This memoir , our respected correspondent , Mr . Toms , of Framlingham , copied , arranged and amplified , some years ajo , and has now put into our hands . It was intended to stand at the head of the lif > of VI r Samuel Say , which will account for the intermixture of the son ' s history with the father ' s . Editor .

Her father and mother , with several other of her relations , fled for religion out of France , upon a great persecution there , in . the beginning ot" Queen Elizabeth ' s time , and came and dwelt at Southampton . ' They possessed a considerable estate at Rouen ( or Caen ) in Normandy . Their family name was Catell . f

It was a family remarkable for religion : his house Had the face of a little church , so many of his children were noted -for piety . Th ^ only one who died very young , discovered the marks of early seriousness . The sons , it is said , were all of them candidates for the ministry .
