father of all— -that he has the greatest love for his rational creatures ; and that the proofs of his grace and mercy to mankind beam forth in every page of the gospel dispensation , which teaches in
the clearest manner , that repentance and reformation of life are the oniy requisites for acceptance with him ; and that all who love him in sincerity , and are diligent ; in the practice of virtue , will be finally happy .
Conceiving it to be of great importance to promote the worship of the trite God , and to inculcate the practice of virtue , as taught by Jesus Christ his son and servant , ' this society agree to the following :, as the fundamental principles of their association :
ist , To support the public worship of God , by giving assistance , as far as possible , to such societies of Unitarian Christians as may require it . ad , To disseminate rational religious knowledge , by distributing such books as appear to them ta contain the most rational views of the gospel , and to be most free from the errors by which it has been sullied and obscured .
3 d , To promote rational religion and the practice of virtue , by means of popular preaching ; and to co-operate with the London Unitarian Fund , in defraying the travelling expences of such teachers as they may think proper to send as missionaries into Scotland . That these objects may be carried into operation , they agree to the following
rules . I . Every person subscribing five shillings or upwards annually , shall be considered a . member , having a right to vote at ail the elections , and entitled to recommend cases to the society . II . Every person subscribing four guineas or upwards , shiill be a member for ) ife , having all the privileges of annual subscribers .
fJJ . All subscriptions paid during any part of the year , shall be considered as commencing- on the first Thursday of July preceeding , and as terminating on the first Thursday of Jdly next ensuing . No subscriber shall be entitled to
recommend a case , or to vote at any meeting , until his subscription for the current year be paid , IV , The money which may be raised in virtue of this institution ) shall be laid out in promoting- the objects thereof ,

0 ' agreeably to the voice of a general Meeting ; or the committee of management may be entrusted with power to that effect .
V . There shall be a general annual meeting of the society * on the -first Thursday of July , when a report shall be made of the state of the society , fctid ofilce-bearers elected for the ensuing year ..
V I . At the general meeting of the society , a sermon shall be preached by a person appointed by the committee , and a public collection shall be made lor the benefit of the fund . VII . The management of this institution shall be vested in a committee , consisting of NINE DIRECTORS , TREASURER , and secretary , of whom five
shall constitute a quorum . The treasurer and secretary shall be elected annually , and may be continued at the pleasure of the society ; but three of tfie directors miist go out , and three others be elected in their place annually . Such outgoings to be regulated by the order of election , of which a record will be kept ; and at every succeeding election , the three who are at the head of the list
will go out , and the three whoare newly elected will be added to the foot of the list . VlfJ . The treasurer shall have the management of the society ' s funds , and the secretary shall g ive notice of the public meetings , and have the management of the-minutes and correspondence . They shall both make a yearly report t " o the society at its general meeting .
IX . Two members of the committee shiili be appointed as auditors of the treasurer ' s accounts , by whom they shall be doquetted before they are submitted to the society . X . The committee shall meet once a month , or oftener , if the secretary shall think proper to call them together ^ XI . Corresponding : members sbalj be appointed in different parts of the kingdom , to whom it shall be recommended to transmit to the secretary an annual re * port of the state of religion in their several districts to be laid before the
general meeting ; and otherwise to piomote the general objects of the soqety . Corresponding members shall be entitled to attend the committee meeting * in Glasgow , and shall be considered for the time being , as members of the committee .
