Somerset and Dorset Unitarian Association . The Twentieth Meeting of this Association was held at Crewkerne , April 17 , 1829 . There was a morning and an evening service . In the morning the prayers of the congregation were offered up by the Revs . J . G , Teggin and W . S . Brown ; after which the Rev . E . Whitfield delivered a discourse on 1 Cor . i .
10 . The devotional part of the evening service was performed by Rev . W . S . Brown , and the Rev . J , G . Teggin discoursed on the precept of our Lord which appears in John xiv . 15 . Immediately after the conclusion of the morning service the business of the society was transacted ; J . Sparks , Esq ., in the Chair . The Secretary reported that the finances of the society were in
a flourishing condition . It was resolved that the minister and a layman of each congregation in the district should form the Committee of the Association . That the late Mr . Wawne ' s paper on the Satisfaction of Christ , which appeared in the Christian Reformer of 1827 , should be printed for distribution . That the uext meeting of the society should be held at Bridport , on Wednesday , September 9 .
