An accoun t of the public income and expenditure of the United Kingdom , in year ending the 5 th day of January , 185 » - distinguishing the actual payments lot the expenses incurred in the collection and management of the revenue ; for the charges of the public debt ( the terminable annuities being also valued by estimate ); for the expenses of the civil the and tO lllS

Births and Deaths in the METROPOLis .---Last week the births of 796 boys and 771 girls , in all 1567 children , were registered in London . The average number in seven corresponding weeks of the years 1845-51 was 1376 . The official report says : — -In the week that ended last Saturday 1 , 072 deaths were registered in London , being nearly the same number as in the previous week . In the ten corresponding weeks of the years 1842-51 the average number was 917 , which , if a correction isi made for increase of population for the purpose of comparing it with the present return , will become 1 , 042 . The deaths of last week thevelore do not much exceed the ordinary rate Of mortality at this season of the year .

DEATHS . TheEarlof > ewburgh died on Friday , at Hassop Hall , Derbyshire , in his 59 th year . Rear-Admiral Henry Bourchier , on the retired list , died on the 14 th inst . Mr . G . Sullivan ^ Consul at . Amoy , died at that place on the 29 th July . . . ' The Right Rev . Philander Chase , D . D ., Bishop of Illinois , and senior bishop of the Protestant Church' of the United States , died a few days since . He was born at Cornish , New Hampshire , Dec 14 , 1775 .
Mr . W . Deane Freeman , Q . C ., Assistant Barrister and Chairman of the Galway Quarter Sessions , while presiding on Tuesday at the quarter sessions in that town , was seized with paralysis and congestion of the brain . He never rallied from the attack ( the second or third of the same nature ) , and expired at 4 o ' clock in tbe afternoon . Mrs . Paterson , of Mauchline , ' one of Burns ' sfive Mauchline belles , died on the I 5 th inst ., in her 87 th year . She
was , when Burns wrote of her , Miss Christina Morton , and she subsequently married Mr . Paterson , merchant , in Mauchline . Almost to the last she retained her faculties unimpaired ; and on one of her grandsons asking her a few hours previous to her death if she still remembered Burns , she at once replied , " Ay , brawly that . " Mrs . Candlish is now the last of Burns ' s " proper young belles of Mauchline . "
