The medicine of Old Parr is the most popular of the present day . It has been before the public only a few _years ; aud in this short period has firmly established itself in public favonr , and has effected immense benefit to all who have obtained this inestimable medicine genuine . Hence the list of respectable names hearing evidence to the high character of this remedy , and testifying beyond the possibility of doubt tlie wonderful charac ter of the medidne by the number of extraordinary and decided cures wholly resulting from its use . By land carriage very few samples came to hand . Of Irish oats' the receipts _w-ere by no means large , though they have proved fully adequate tomeetthe wants ofthe dealers . The imports of foreign grain were , comparatively speaking , smail . Fresh up to-day very little Engli _^ li wheat came to hand ; hence the stands were scantily tilled with samples . Owing , however , to the rumours afloat on the subject of a contemplated alteration in the corn-laws , the wheat trade was almost paralysed ; indeed , such waa the heaviness in the trade that some time elapsed before a single sale was concluded . We
have , therefore , to quote a decline in the value of the finest parcels of both red and white of 2 s ., in that of the middling and inferior qualities of quite 3 s . per quarter , at which a clearance was not effected , many of the buyers refusing to purchase except at further reduced currencies . As might , therefore , boexpected , the market closed with even a further downward movement in the quotations than we have above quoted . Of free foreign wheat the show was by no means large , but the before-mentioned causes operated against sales , and the currencies suffered an abatement of from Is . to in some instances 3 s . per quarter , and at wliich amount of depression scarcely any sales were concluded . For wheat under lock there was scarcely any inquiry ; indeed , such was the heaviness in the trade , that pi-ices must be considered almost nominal . The show of English and foreign barley
was moderately good , but of very inferior qualitv . In some cases , selected parcels lit for malting were taken at about late rates ; but all other descriptions declined in value Is . to 2 s . per quarter , and a large portion of such was left over for Wednesday ' s market . We had onl y a limited quantit y of malt on offer , jet the sale for that article was very dull , at a decline ol Is . per quarter . Although the show of oats was by no means large , the oat trade ruled extremely dull , and the currencies declined from Is . to 2 s . per quarter . The almost only quality in demand was feed , The supply of beans was moderate , while the inquiry was very dull , and the quotations fell from Is . to 2 s per quarter . Peas of all kinds , the show of which was large , moved off heavily at a reduction in value of from Is . to 2 s . per quarter . Flour very dull , and the turn lower .
