MEDICAL ADVICE . ME . LA MEET , SonoEoN , Licentiate of the Apothecaries' Hall , London , and Honorary Member of the London Hospital Medical Society , &c ., having devoted his studies for many years exclusively to the various diseases of the Generative Organs , to the successful Treatment of the Venereal aad Syphilitic Disease * , and to the removal of ; those distressing nervous sensations , arising from a secret indulgence in a delusive and destructive habit , continues to be consulted Iroml ^ ine in the Morniiig till Ten at Night , and on Sundays from Nine till Two , at his residence , at
No . 271 , ALBION-STREET , LEEDS , and country patients , requiring hi ? assistance ^ by making ouly one personal visit , will receive « uch advice and medicine * that will enable them to obtain a permanent and effectual Cure , when all ether means have failed . A complete knowledge of the symptom * and treatment of these insidious' and dangerous diseases , can only be required by those who , in addition to experience , have gone through a regular course of Medical Instruction ; for unfortunately there are hundreds who annually fall victims to the immoderate ust of mercury , and other dangerous rtmediet , administered by illiterate men , who , owing to a total ignorance of'the geueral principles of
medicine , ruia the constitution , by sugVring the disease to get into the system , where being carried by the circulalion of the blood into all parts of the body , tbe whole frame bedomes tainted with venereal poison ; and the most unhappy consequences eiisue , for it then assumes so many appearances , that the greatest discrimination U . often necessary to detect its presence , at one time affecting the skin , particularly the head and face , with eruptions and ulcers , closely resembling and often treated as scurvy ; at another period producing the most violent pains in the limbs and bones , which is frequently mistaken fur rheumatism ; thus the w&ole frame becomes debilitated and decayed , and a lingering death puts a period to iheir dreadful sufferings . ,
LA MERT'S BESTOB . ATIVE PILLS , price 2 s . 9 d . and 11 s . per box , are well known aa a certain and effectual remedy for eveTy stage and symptom of the Venereal Disease , without confinement , loss of time , © X Inndrance from business ; they have effected many surprising cures , not only in recent gohftrrncea , and simple cases , but when sativaUen and all oth ^ r means hare failed . In those frightful cades * f sexual and nervous debility , brought optW ' a solitary indulgence , in
forbidden practices , and which weakens and destroys all the physical anflmeotal powers , occasioning melancholy , deficiency , and the necessity of renouncing the felicities of maariage , Mr . La Mert « au with confidence offer , as a regularly educated member of tbe Medical Profession , a safe and speedy restoration to found and vigorous health ; and from the peculiar nature of hia practice , embracing every variety of difficult circumstances , the inost timid may feel encouragement ia the opportunity thus afforded them . q ' l
Mr . LA MERT may , be personally consulted from Nine in the morning till Ten at night , and will give advice to persons taking the above , or any other of his preparations , without a fee . He continues , with unabated assiduity , to eradicate every species of infection . In receDt case .-, a perfect cere is completed within a week , or no charge made for medieiaes after the expiration of that period ; And in those of the utmost inveteracy , where Jthtr practitioners have failed , a proper perssverance in his plan of treatment insures to the patient a safe , Tell grounded , and lasting re-estabhshment . He hopes that the successful , easy , and expeditions mode he has adopted , of eradicating every ynvptom of a Certain Disease , without any material alteration in diet , or hindrance of business , aad yet preserving the constitution in fall vigoor aad free from injury , will establish bis claims for support . As this Disease" is ene whieh is likely to be contracted whenever exposure takes place , it is not like aany other visitors , oaee in life , but on tbe contrary , one infection may scarcely havebeen removed , when tnotber may unfortunately be imbibed , therefore the Practitioner requires real judgment in order to treat each particular Case in * nch a manner as not merely to remove the present attack , but to preserve the lonrtitutian unimpaired , in case of a repetition at no distant period . The man of experience can ivail himself of the greatest improvements in modera practice , by being able to distinguish between discharge ? of a specific and of a simple or mild nature , which can only be made by oBe in daily practice , ifter dae consideration of all circumstances . In the same manner at birth , appearances often take place in children , which call for a proper knowledge and acquaintance with the disease , in order to liscrimmate their real nature , and which may be the meanB of sowing domestic discord , unlessmanaged by the Saxgeon with propriety and fkill ; but instead of possessing the proper Qualifications ' , so essential to tbe Practitioners in this insidaous Complaint , you often find low Mechanics vilely pretending to have itudied tbe Healing Art , and deluding the Unwary by their nefarious Nostrums ; it is these Men who are the most arrogant in their pretensions , wh « , by want of skill destroy more than even Pestilence and the Sword . Can Patients therefore , laboring under this Complaint be too cantious into whose Hands they sommit themsehres?—the Propriety of this remark is abnttoantly manifest by the same Patient frequently passing die Ordeal of several Practitioners before he is fortunate enough to obtain a perfect Cure . Were Patients Sufficiently aware of the Risk they encountered , when they commit so serious a charge as Life to Illiterate and inexperienced Hands ; and were they to be Witnesses of the excruciating Sufferings of too many unhappy Victisas who are sacrificed to improper Treatment , they would pause before they proceed , and w « ald inquire further than the plausible Hand-bills and Advertisements presented to their Eyes , by _ seif-recommended Nostrummongers aad Emperie » . Tbe followiag are seme of the many symptoms that listinguish this Disease : —a general debility , eroptaonc on the head , face , aad body ; ulcerated sore throat * , scrofula , swellings in the neck , nodes on tie sfein bones , cancers , fistula , pains in the head and limbl , which are frequently vuetaken for rheumatism , &c . &c .
Patients in the eooatry , by stating their cages and enclosing a remittance , may have proper remedies * eat to th « amount , with directions so simple and plain , that parties of either sex Bay cure themselves without even the knewledge of a bedfellow . Mr . W ' s . invariable rule is to give a Card to each of his Patients , as a guarantee for Cure , which he pledges himself to perform , or to return his Fee .
