CURES IN SHEFFIELD . From Mr . A . Whittaker , bookseller , 1 , Forgate , Sheffield , Jan . 2 , 1846 . Gentlemen—Numberless parties in and around Sheffield , have found the greatest benefit from Dr . Locock ' s Pulmonic Wafers . Among the rest a gentleman , who has been a leading actor on the Sheffield stage upwards of twenty years , assured me that he always kept by him a box of Loctsck ' s Wafers , whether at home or when travelling to distant towns , as being the best and readiest remedy he can get for colds and hoarseness , so peculiarly troublesome in his profession . And th « gentleman , who lives at Pitsmoor , has been for years much subject to illness from colds , and he declares that during a number of years he has tried almost every medium that he has heard of for coughs and colds , but none had been of material service to him until he tried Locock ' s Wafers , which at once cured him . Yours , A . WIIITTAKER .

ANOTHER CURE OP COUGH AND COLD . 4 , Princes-street , Hull , Dec . 3 , 1 S 45 . Dear Sir , — Having received speedy and permanent relief from the use of Dr . Locock's Wafers , I beg respectfully to make known my case to you . Last winter I took cold , which brought on a very bad cough ; for some time I neglected it ; it soon , however began to n-ear a serious aspect . Having an aversion to call in a medical man , I was easily prevailed upon by a friend to try Dr . Loeoek ' s wafers . The first box did me so much service that I felt assured it only required a little perseverahco to obtain a perfect cure . It gives me great pleasure to inform you that I am now perfectly restored to health by them . Yours truly , C . Panes . To Mr . Reinnardt .

London Cok . v Exciiangk , Monday , March 2 . — The result of the debate in the J louse of Commons mving been pretty generally anticipated , had no marked effect upon our trade this morning ; some weeks must jet elapse before the measure can become law , and until then active business is scarcely to be looked for . Supplies of every description i ' f grain were short last week , and there was but a moderate show by land-carriage samples this morning . Fine EHglish white wheat was in request , and brought the extreme rates of Monday last , but all other descriptions sold but slowly . it the currency of that day , and parcels effected in condition could not be quitted at all . The better qualities of foreign wheat in bond
continue to go off in retail to the millers , but beyond this there is no sale for the article . Barley was held tor more money , and the sales made were at something over last week ' s currency . Uats were heavy , but no material alteration in their value can be quoted since this day se ' nniykt . Beans , and white and maple peas , brought previous prices ; hog peas were Is . per qr . cheaper . In the absence of any supplies ef importance , red clover seed continues to advance , and the quotations of this day week were exceeded to-day by quite 3 s . per cwt . White seed and trefoil go off more freely than they did , but as yet little improvement has taken place in the value of either .

Lokdon Smithfield Cattle Mahket , Mosmr , March 2 . —During the past week the imports oflivc stock tor this market have been as follows , viz . •_ 10 oxen and 8 cows , from Rotterdam ; 7 oxen ' •?! cows , and 52 sheep , from Scheidam ; 7 oxen 0 cows and 26 sheep , from Norwyk ; 10 oxen , 42 cows and » 0 sheep , from Harlingen ; 15 cows and 24 sheep from Maas Sluice ; while this morning , about 100 oxen and cows , together with 150 sheep , were lauded from Rotterdam in very middling condition . To-day we had on offer 310 oxen and cows , and 300 sheep from theabove ports , and which commanded a steady sale , at , in some instances , enhanced ratc 3 . AtlJull , the arrivals of foreign stock have been about 70 head ! 1 he arrivals of beasts from our own districts , fresh up to-day , being limited , and the attendance of
buyers good , the beef trade was active at an advance in the ( juotations of 2 d . per 81 bs . ; the primest Scot 3 producing 4 s . 4 d . per 81 bs ., and at wnich a good clearance was effected . The numbers of sheep were smaller than on any pvc vious market days during the last forty years ; yet the mutton trade was by no means active , at last week ' s quotations . Some small lambs produced 7 s . per 8 lba . In calves very little was doing ; while the pork trade was inactive , at previous quotations .

PROVINCIAL CORN MARKETS . Richmond Cors Market , Saturday , Feu . 23 .-. We had a good supply of grain in our market tu-dav . ft heat sold from 5 s . Od . to 9 s . Od . ; oats , 2 s . 'Jil to 3 s . Sd . ; barley , 3 s . 6 d . to 4 s . Od . ; beans , 4 s . 9 d . to Cs . 0 d ., per bushel . Liverpool , Monday , March 2 . —The supplies from Ireland during the week aftbrd a fair quantity ot ' wheat , but small of oats , oatmeal , flour , and Indian corn . Since last Tuesday , a fair business has bi ^ a done in wheat , both to the town ' s dealers and on speculation , and a lew lots of secondary Irish new have been taken by the Yorkshire millet's . On the whole , the trade has assumed an improved aspect , and prices have not receded ; in some instances , indeed , for the lower qualities , rather better rates have
been obtained . With a moderate demand for flour , both sacks and barrels have fully sustained previous quotations . Oats still find a limited sale , and prices are barely supported , but oatmeal has been held with much firmness , and the stock here at present being small , there are no sellers of the best Irish under 34 s . per 240 lbs . Barley has been much depressed , and there is scarcely any sale for either malting or grinding samples at present . Egyptian beans hare commanded a trifle advance . In peas no change of value , and we are almost without demand . The transactions under bond have been confined to a few hundred barrels of Western Canal flour at 27 s . per barrel , and a parcel of Indian corn at 31 s . per 430 lbs . Wakkfield , Friday , Fun . 27 . —The supplies of all grain are liberal , and there are also a great many samples offering from vessels near at hand . We have an excessively dull trade in wheat to-dav , and in some
instances even the finest samples sell at a decline of Is . per quarter , other sorts unsaleable . Fine barley sells at previous rates , common sorts at Is . per quarter lower . Beans rather cheaper . Oats and shelling sell at a trifling decline . Malt firm , and easy sale . Manchester , Saturday , Feb . 2 S . ~ No alte ratiou whatever can be said to have occurred in the state ot ' the trade since our last report , the transactions in all articles having continued on the merest retail scale , witha view to immediate consumption only , and without material variation in prices . There was but little business passing in wheat at our market this morning , but holders were firm in requiring the rates ot this day se ' nnig . ht . Flour likewise met an exceedingly slow sale at previous rates . Oats were in limited demand , and Id . per -lofts , cheaper . ¦ The best descriptions of oatmeal were in fair request and without chanse in value .
Birmingham , Wednesday . —During the present : week the transactions in wheat have not been exten- sive . Good dry ne wwheat supported its value , but i damp pareels were Heglected . Fine malting barley < a better sale ; inferior unsaleable , except at low rates . English new beans in request at quite as much c money , with a limited demand for foreign . Oats dull , [ and to effect sales , lower prices have been accepted . j Nswcastlk , Tuesday . —Our market was largely supplied with wheat to-day from the coast , as all the vessels kept back by the long continuance of northei ly winds have arrived together , but the shows of samples trom the growers were moderate , and the sales proved very slow for the largest qualities , both of old and new at barely last Saturday ' s rates , whilst inferior descriptions were completely neglected . For barley , also , the trade ruled extremely uull , and the little business transacted was 011 rather lower terms .
In malt we had little or nothing passing . Rye fully supported its value , in consequence of the small quantity offering . Oats and other grain remained without any material change .
