i William Aiiingham . William Aiiingham , the well-known Irish poet , died at Hampstead on November 19 , and his body was cremated at Woking . Mr . Aiiingham was the author of ' Day and Niht Songs' j
t / ^ J CJ v g ^ j ^ j , ' Songs , Ballads , and Stories , ' a patriotic poem entitled ' Laurence Bloomfield in Ireland , ' which originally appeared in Fraser's Magazine , and was republished , with revisions , in 1864 , and again O five years v later . The poem XT g ives vivid p A ictures of Irish life . Mr . Aiiing Oham was also
the author of many other poems and ballads . Some of his earlier verses appeared in Household Words , and were greatly admired by the late Charles Dickens . Mr . Aiiingham succeeded Mr . Froude as editor of Fraser's Magazine . He was a man of many accomplishments and
most genial spirit ; but he can hardly be said to have justified the literary hopes of his friends .
