Thomas contributed sixteen papers to the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society , of which
he was honorary treasurer . These papers related exclusively to Eastern coinsand they
were republished with the title of ' , Tracts on Oriental Literature . ' He was joint nMeditor
of Sir Henry Elliot ' s posthumous ' History of India . '
