'Dear Sir 1 1 , have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 22 nd inst ., and also a copy of your book . I have not yet had time to read all the book—but have read a portion of it , and looked through and observed the plan of the work , and the clearness and ability and force with which you hare handled the subject ; and I am very much , pleased with it . It is not only a very readable , but a very instructive volume ; and I most cordially commend it to the favourable consideration of our people . ' Wishing you much success in your labours and much prosperity , ' I am , very truly , & c , < JOSEPH E . BROWN / Extract from an Editorial in the Constitution , Atlanta , Georgia , Thursday , June 17 , 1886 . 1 Rev . Timothy Harley lived in Savannah for a number of years . He has just published an exceedingly interesting volume on Greorgia . The title is " Southward Ho ! " IMr . Harley is well educated , and with a natural taste for literature . He saw the lack of any bopk that could give the English people a correct idea of Georgia , and as a labour of love he has supplied the work that was needed . Mr . Harley does not write his book from the meagre information -which a tourist would pick up , but from his own personal knowledge of a people among whom he has lived . He has some interesting things to say about the coloured people , slavery , etc . He has sown seed that will bear good fruit . ' OPINIONS OF THE PRESS . ' A pleasant record of a tour through Georgia , containing a good deal of information that is not of the kind usually forthcoming from tourists .
