This copy is on stout paper , very sound and genuine throughout , though slightly stained , and having an erasure of four words on the twenty-first and twenty-second lines of the fifty-first leaf . It measures 10 £ x 7 J in ., and is bound in old calf of the early part of the seventeenth century . ' Other books : ' Dugdale ' s Baronage , ' large paper , 1675-6 , ^ 14 ( Sotheran ); Gerson's ' Arte or Crafte to live Well and to Dye Well ' ( Wynkyn de Worde , 1505 ) , imperfect , £ 8 . 5 s . ( Sotheran ) ; Heywood ' s ' Spider and the Flie , ' a lovely copy—no doubt the finest in existence — £ 32 ( Quaritch ) . A fine copy of the fourth folio Shakespeare brought £ 31 . 10 s . ( Quaritch ) . The total realised by the day ' s sale was £ 1 , 092 . 17 s . Gd . Messrs . Puttick & Simpson send us a good list of forthcoming sales . Some are announced as 'in preparation / and among the books mentioned is a copy of Higden ' s * Poly-< jhronicon , ' printed by William Caxton . One of their early sales includes Buller's ' Birds of New Zealand ;* Boydell ' s Shakespeare , extra illustrated ; Dickens's Grimaldi , first edition .
