CORN MARKET . Mark-lane , Friday , August 1 , 1856 . During the week , the supply of English Wheat has been small , but Foreign continues to arrive in considerable quantities , and for Wheat on the spot , there is only a very slight demand . The little business doing is at Ss . to 4 s . under Monday's rates , being a decline of fully 6 s . from last Friday . Norfolk Flour is selline ; at 48 s . There have been very scanty arrivals off the coast , either of Wheat or Maize , and very few sales have been made , either arrived or on passage . Danube Wheat , of inferior quality , has been sold at 53 s ., and Galatz Maize Sis . 6 d ., cost , freight , and insurance . An offer of 2 as . for iorail Maize and . 313 . Tor Galatz , on passage , has been refused . There is decidedly more inquiry for Maize on the spot—tho lovrness of its price , in comparison with Barley , attracts attention , yet no advance on last week ' s rates can be obtained . The current value , ex ship , is 31 s . 6 d . to 32 s . per 480 lbs . There is a great scarcity of Barley , and former rates are fully maintained . Oats arrive only in moderate quantities , but the supply is fully equal to the demand , and prices rather decline . Among the arrivals is the first cargo from Archangel , which sell at 24 s . ex ship . Beans and Peas remain unaltered in value .
