v MONEY MARKET AND CITY INTELLIGENCE . Fhibay . In the beginning of the week the market"for ~ Eng lish Funds was very flat , and an uneasy feeling prevailed among dealers on account of the late decision of the directors of the Bank of England , which ia felt to be unfavourable to speculation . » The dosing price of Consols on Monday was 96 | to 96 £ , and no alteration took place on the following day . On Wednesday , although the amount of business done was small , prices rose ^ , and the market ruled firm . The improvement was maintained yesterday , owing to the abundance of money , under the influence of which Consols advanced to 96 J , and , towards the close of business , some speculative purchases caused a further rise of j . This morning the market was buoyant , and opening prices 96 J to 96 J . The range of prices during the week has been as follows : —Consols , 96 ? to 96 g ; Bank Stock , 213 to 214 ; Three-and-a-Quarter per Cents ., 98 § to 98 j ; Exchequer Bills , 56 s . to 62 s . premium . In the market for Foreign Securities there haB not been much animation during the week . Yesterday Foreign Stocks were steady , with a tendency to improvenent .
