EAG-LE IN STIR AN OE COMPANY 3 , Crescent , New Bridge-street , BhwkfHars , London . DIKECTOES . Robert Alexander Gray , Esq ., Chairman . Thomas Devas , Esq ., Deputy Chairman . Charles Bischoff , Esq . Joshua L ' oekwood , Esq . Thomas Hoddin ^ ton , Esq . W . A . Peacock , Esq . Nathaniel Gould , Esq . Ralph Charles Ps-ice , Esq . Charles Thos . Holcombe , Esq . Thomas G . Sambrooke , Esq . Richard Harman Lloyd , Esq . William Wybrow , Esq . AcwAnx aitd SECEETAEr . —Charles Jellicoe , Esq . The business of the Company comprises Assurance on Lives and Survivorships , the Purchase of Life Interests , the Sale and Purchase of Continprent and Deferred Annuities , Loans of Money on Mortgage , & c . This Coinpany was established in 1807 , is empowered by the Act of Parliament 53 Geo . III ., and is regulated by Deed enrolled in the High Court of Chancery , The Company was originally a strict Proprietary one . The Assured , on the x ^ articipating scale , now participate quinquennially hi four-fifths of the amount to be divided . The Directors have availed themselves of the more accurate information recently obtained as to the rate of mortality among assured lives , and have modified the Tables originally constructed for the Coinpany accordingly . The rates now charged are lower than those required by many of tho Ofllces , and , as compared with them , a , Bonus is in fact at once secured by elVceting an assurance with the Eagle Company . Thus the Premium required by one Office in parlicxilar for assurance of JtJlOOO at the age of 20 , would secure , in the Eagle Office , no less than £ 1250 , —that is to say , a Policy for the same amount , with an immediate addition of 25 per cent , to the Burn assured . To the present time ( 1853 ) the Assured havo received from the Company , in satisfaction of their claims , upwards of L'l . WO / KX ) . The amount at present assured is £ 3 , 000 , 000 nearly , and the income of the Company is about £ 130 , 000 . At the last Division of Surplus , about £ 120 , 000 was added to the sum ;; assured under Policies for the whole term of . Life . The lives assured arc permitted , in time of peace , and not being engaged in mining or gold digging , to reside in any country , —or to pass by sea ( not being seafaring persons by profession ) between any two parts of the same hemisphere—distant more than 33 degrees from tho Equator , without extra charge . Deeds assigning Policies arc registered at tho ofliee , and assignments can be eilccted on forms supplied therefrom . The Annual Iteporbf of tho Company ' s nta ( o jind progress , Prospectuses and Forms , may be hud , or will bo Kent , post froo , on application at tho OHiee , or to any of the Company ' H Agents .
