fng their minds , aiid % Jirecting them to the proper abject of religious -worship . We have with peculiar pleasure been informed , that this idea was taken into serious consideration , and it is hoped will be carried into execution . Mr . B , lamented the -want of zeal in his
Unitarian brethren , which he represented ' as giving to the Andrew Fullers an opportunity of triumph , but which he trusted would soon be removed , Unitarians being at last awakened from their apath y * We understand that the Association will assemble next year at Mansfield . Dr . Warwick of Roth ^ rham is to
introduce the service , and the Rev . Dr . Phi * Kpps , of Sheffield , was unanimously appointed to be the preacher . A plan has been lately formed > under the auspices of George Stnitt , Esq . of Belper , of uniting under the care of two Ministers the Unitarian Congregations
of Duffield , Milfbrd , Belper , Ripley , and JL . ee-Wood , near Matiock , in the county of Derby . The Rev . Evan Jones , formerly of the Gaermarthen Academy , and late of Coseley near Dudley , has been engaged as one minister , and has commenced his labours with a fair
prospect of usefulness and success . It is to be hoped that another minister will speedily be appointed for this district , and that , up&er their joint exertions , the cause of truth and rational religion will gain ground and flourish . One advantage to be derived from the execution of this plan is , that it will pre ~
ventthese Societies from falling into the hands of illiterate people , who professing to teach others , stand themselves in need of instruction . This has happened to some Congregations in the neighbourhood , who formerly listened to Ministers of a different description , as to sentiments , talents , and education .
We have just received an account of the establishment of an Unitarian church in the back settlements of America—further particulars of which will be laid be * fore our readers in our next number . A plan is under contemplation for establishing an union between the ministers and congregations of the

the British and Foreign Bible Society with the princely present of one thou j sand guineas . The Annual Report of the « British and Foreign Bible Society" has been lately printed , and is now before this
public . It appears that the exertions of the Committee to carry into effect the designs of the Society have , during : the last year , been attended with signal and extensive success . Among other facts too numerous to detail , the
Coinmittee report , that they have granted to the Nuremberg Bible Society a further donation of 200 L in order to enable them to print by stereotype the whole Bible ; that they have succeeded in estar blishing a Bible Society at Berlin , fothe Prussian dominions , which is
honored with the patronage of his Prussian Majesty ; and that they are laboring to establish a similar society in Esthonia , a province of the Russian empire They also report , that the Roman Catholics of Ratisbon , stimulated by the example of Nuremberg , have instituted a Bible Society for the Poor in
Germany of their own persuasion . 'The Committee state , that tfyey have supplied the French and Spanish prisoners in this country with portions of the Scripture i / i their respective languages , and sent over " many copies of the
stereotyped New Testament for circulating in Ireland . They are now printing the Welsh Bible ( the New Testament of which is completed ) , a Spanish Testa * ment , a Gaelic Bible , 8 cc . L . arge con - tiibutions have been received from
Scotland , and mention is njade of the receipt of 600 L from the United denomina * tions of Chri tians in Birmingham . This last liberal subscription was raised in a mo ^ t pleasing way . The several
Ministers ( including the TJnitaiians and the Evangelical Clergy ) and some of the respectable inhabitants met and agreed to divide the town into twelve ditricts . Thas > e were each \ igited by three persons of different denominations . The
consequence of so generous and Chri tian a plan was the large collection above mentioned . The inhabitants of Birmingham have set a noble example to other towns , which will not , we trust , be forgotten . Charity , thus adorned with candour , is doubly excellent .
