IVavwickshtre Unitarian Tract Society .
On Tuesday , the nth of Jane , the Annual Meeting of the Unitarian Tract Society for Warwickshire and the neighbouring counties , was holden at the meeting-house In the High Street , Coventry . The devotional services were conducted by the Revt Dr . Toulmin . The Rev * James Hews Bransby , of
Dudley , preached . The subject of his discourse vfas the love of Christ , from John xxi . 17 . ie Lord , thou knowest all things , thou knowest that I love thee . '* All the passages in the New Testament , "which speak of the love of Christ , were brought together and presented in one view . From which were deduced
appropriate and judicious remarks to explain the nature of this sacred affection , the grounds and the expressions of ir . The peculiar force with which this duty can be urged on Unitarian principles , was pointed out and illustrated , and the mistaken notions concerning it were candidly stated and pathetically
deplored . The discourse was evidently heard with a seriousness and interest , by most , suitable to its importance and congenial to the devout and impressive spirit with which it was animated . occasions scarcely rose above rnedioority , the publication of them has its peculiar use , especially when the heareis received them with approbation and impression * It -would meet and improve the state of mind created at the moment ; would excite attention in a . particular circle , in which more elaborate discourses are either not known or are neglected : and it seems due , from re *

spect and for the sake of gratifying eanosity and communicating information , to the inclinations and wishes of the majority of the members of the society , who will unavoidably be absent from the services of its anniversary . Th « intention of such societies is to circulate
books and tracts ; why not in particular those discourses in which , as addressed to themselves , as well as from the principle of novelty and the peculiar merit of the discourse , they feel a particular interest ? Can there be a more appropriate application of their funds , than indemnify ing the press for such views ? These hints are submitted to hearers to
induce them to request the publication of the sermons on these occasions , and to preachers to engage their compliance with such requests , -when properly brought forward and supported . T .
