Dudley Double Lecture . On Whit-Tuesday , June 8 th , the Annual Meeting of Ministers , denominated " the Double Lecture , * was holden at Dudley . The Rev , John Kentish conducted the devotional service . Two very interesting and impressive discourses were delivered - . —the former , by the Rev . John Corrie , on the value of revelation , from Luke ii . 10 , 11 .
" And the angel said unto them , Fear uot ; for , behold , 1 bring you good tidings of great joy , which shall be to all people . For unto you is bora this day in the city of David a Saviour , which is Christ
the Lord : "—and the latter by the Rev . Dr . Toulmin , on the reciprocal duties of a minister and the people of his charge , from 1 Cor . iy . 1 . ** Let a man so account of us , as of the ministers of Christ and stewards
of the mysteries of God . " The readers of the Monthly Repository will learn with pleasure that both the sermons are to be printed . Fifteen ministers were present , and the congregation was numerous .
At the anniversary in 1812 , it was unanimously resolved , that , the senior preacher in future be requested to select some subject connected with theduties of mini ^ te rs and people in dissenting congregations , and the younger preacher some subject connected with the evidences of divine revelation . _ J .
