VALUABLE PUBLICATIONS . This Day is Published , Price Two Shillings , handsomely bound in Cloth , FIFTEEN LESSONS OK THE ANALOGY AND SYNTAX OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE , for the Use of Adult Persons wh » have neglected the Study of Grammar . BY WILLIAM HILL . Third Edition revised and amended . ¦ Tbe Author has great pleasure in presenting , at a reduced price , this new and improved Edition of his work , to the many who have enquired for it , during the short time it has been out of print . '¦ In these Lwsons , the absurd and unmeaning technicalities which pervade all other Works on Grammar are exchanged for ternu which have a definite and precise meaning , illustrative of the thing * xhey represent . The Parts of speech are arranged on an entirely new Principle , founded on a Philosophical Consideration of the Nature of Language , and applicable to all Languages . The necessary Divisions and Subdivisions are rationally accounted for—and tbe Princi ples of Universal Grammar demonstrated so fully , that the meanest capacity may understand them . In Syntax , the formation of the English Language is exclusively consulted , without any unnecessary reference to other Languages . A majority of the numerous Rules given in most Grammars are shown lobe little better than a heap of senseless Tautology . The necessary Rules are demonstrated upon rational Principles , and illustrated by a Tariety of Examples .
