R ^ t-ierts , on the part of the Election Committee , uported that tbe Committed bad decided tbat tbe four gbjitltmen chosen at tbo pub io m « eting at Newcastle were duly elected , and tbe gentlemen chosen by a poll of the inhabitants were not duly elec ' . ed , but tbe Committee recommend that the latter gentlemen be allowed to sit and speak in tbe Conference , but not to vote . This report of the Committee was received and adooted .
Mr . Thomas Cooper opened the adjourned debate . Tie . Glover moved a third amendment , which was not seconded . . Previous to the vote being taken , Mr . Lovett stated that , in his anxiety for anivn , be bad made the followiiig propositions to tbe leading members of tbe Complete iSuffrage Union : —That both tbe propositions for priority should be withdrawn . Tbat tbe two documents ( the People ' s Chatter , and tbe Bill as prepared by tbe Council ) should be laid on the table .
