HALIFAX—The quarterly delegate meeting of this district was held on Sunday last , at the Association Room , Mixenden Stones . Delegates present from Halifax , Sowerby , Ripponden , Lower Warley , Upper Warley , Mix « nden , Ovenden , and New Pellon . Mr . Wm . Sutclifig in tbe ohair . The balance sheet of the quarter ' s receipts and disbursements being laid before the delegates assembled , it was audited and found correct After the financial business was concluded , the following resolutions were unanimously adopted : — 1 . " That for the batter promulgation of the trae principles of democracy , and th 8 advancement of the Chartist cause , a talented lecturer be engaged for one fortnight in this district at as early an opportunity as possible , " 2 . " That being called upon to express ous opinions , regarding the three conferences , as recommended by the Executive , and that of a National
Delegate Meeting , we beg leave to say , that we cordially agree with the fourth resolution of tka Leicestershire delegates , and instead of the meeting being attended by delegates from each locality , wonld suggest that it be attended by delegates from districts only , as the fottnee would be much more expensive , whL ' sfc the latter would have the same effect , and save that expencs , and ' mnch better adapted for business of so important a nature . Beaumont in the cfcair , when the following resolution was proposed by a wording man , seconded by another , and nobly spoken to by Mr . P . M . Brophy and Mr . W .
