LETTER FROM MR . WM . HICK , NORTHERN STAR OFFICE , LEEDS . " Northern Star Office , Leeds , March 17 th , 1842 . CCr \ entlemen , —You will oblige by forwarding , at IT your earliest convenience , the same quantity of PARR'S LIFE PILLS as last sent . While am writing I cannot refrain from communicating the flattering intelligence of the groat good your pills are doing in Leeds and its neighbourhood . It is clearly a great error to find fault with a medicine mevely because it is a patent one ; and more especially since its use has contributed so largely to the public health . The fact is , however , predjudice is fast giving way , as it alwayB must where tbe pills are tried . A few cases in point may serve to confirm and illustrate what I have asserted .

NERVOUSNESS is a term which embraces ft ! 1 frightful catalogue of disorders—even to insanity itself—to describe a tenth part of the symptoms nervous patients experience would fill a volume ; but although their variety is so great , they are all referable to one and the eam « cause . A nervous patient is like a musical instrument with ita chords loosened , emitting all sorts of discordant instead of harmonious sounds . What is , therefore , wanted to restore a nervous patient to health ! Tha

Froggatt , of Bilston , dtl . vertd a fartweU sermon tp hifl WoWerhamptou frieuds , in their Aesociatioij Koom , John-street , and at the conclusion was greeted with every mark of approbation and respect . Indeed , his conduct here has gained him many friends He is a vsry poor man , and unablu to get any employment in this district , In consequence of his unflinching advocacy of the rights of the suffering millions ; nay , more , he haa the audacity to openly avow himself a Chartist , and that in the eyes of the ' respectables' is considered a crime ef tbe deepest dye . As Mr . Froggatt is about leaving Bilston . the Council at Wolverhampton take this opportunity of recommending him to any of the Chartist Associations he may at any time call upon as an honest and consistent advocate of the People's Charter . The Asso ciation Roo . u is open , every Sunday from nine in the morning till nine in tbe evening , and on Wednesday erenines at seven o'clock .

The Chartists of Ntwcastle held their weekly business meeting on Monday evening , as usual , Mr . Kcox in the chair . The minutes of the previous meeting having been confirmed , Mr . It was then agreed that £ l be immediately forwarded to the Northern Star office , for tbe Dsfance Fund , which sum , together with £ 1 formerly sent to the Evening Star , and credited in that journal to Mr . Binns , makes £ 2 sent by the Chartists of Newcastle ; and as many of the collectors * books are Hot yet handed in , another remittance will be sent in tbe couise of a week . Mr . Sinclair was then requested to announce , through tbe Star , that tbe Charter
Association of Newcastle have taken tbe sale of the Northern Star on their own responsibility for the future , appropriating the proceeds to the advancement of tbe movement , hoping that all who wish to see tbe cause progress in this district will become subscribers to the only weekly organ having the real aud unfeigned interests of the industrious classes at heart , and thereby fuiuisb funds to the Association to agitate the district . Mr . Smith , basket ^ maker , 52 , New Market , has kindly volunteered his services to distribute the papers at his shop until a sufficient number of subscribers can ta procured to justify tbe Chartists in hiring an individual for that purpose . Any person becoming a regular subscribtr -will receive their portraits the same as from any other ageDta , as arrangements are made with the Star office t » that effect ; and country subscribers will have their papers forwarded by post or carrier peremptorily .
