BhadFORD . —On Sunday , at two o ' clock in the afternoon , Mr . Kjdd , of Newcastle , lectured " on the Charter , and how to get it" There was present a great number of the middle classes . Thos . Drake , ef Tnomton , in the chair . My . Kydfl reviewed the various uostrnma now before the public , and eloquently combatted the arguments of the claptrap agitators of the day . Ha then dearly proved to tbe entire eatisfaction of tha meeting , that the plan proposed by Mr . O'Co-noT , in the Slar-of the 16 th cf September , of exclasivs dealing , would be a sure and safe method of compelling the shopkeepers to become Chartists , and thereby nil the House of Commons with Chartist members . Mr . Kydd concluded a very argumentative address by calling on those who who were not
memtars , to eome forward and eErol themselves CbatttstS . — Mr . Kydd lectured in the Large Boom , Butterworth-Tsuildinga . on Sunday evening . Snr-ject— " Ireland for tbe Irir-h , Repeal of the Legislative "Union ; Mr . Smyth in the chair . A great nun . ber of Irishmen were present . Mr . Kydd very forcibly enumerated the wrongs and oppression wbieh at at al ! times were unsparingly awarded to the sMer country : he Bhowed the evils of a stats church , both in a religions and social view : and called on tbe EDglish Chartists to render every assistance in their power to thsir Irish brethren , to obtain justice for alL At the conclusion of the lecture Mr . Kjdd moved ths following resolution— " That in the opicion of this meeting , Ireland is fully entitled to a Repeal of the Legislative Union ; ' and we therefore «
jtpregs oui Ejmpathy with that portion of the Irish p .-ople , Who are agitating for that chaage . We therefore call on men holding similar opinions , to give them publicity through the medium of the press , public meetings , ic . < 3 ri ; snd hope that the Irish people generally will perceive the necessity of using their energies to tffeet a reconciliation between Mr . O'Connell , tfee leader of the Repeal movement , and Mr . O'Connor , so as to bring to beaT on one point the talent and inflatnee of those great men for the purpose of destroying syrannieal factions , and gaiEing for England , Ireland , and Scotland their legitimate ri g hts , " The resolution
was ssconded by Mr . Welsh , a Bepeal warden , and carried unanimoutlf amid great applause . Mr . Hurley moved— " That in the opinion of this meeting the conduct of government in putting a stop to the Clontarf meeting was uncorstitutionalin the extreme ; and such urjust interference on the part of the government ought to bs censnred and deprecated hy every consistent friend to liberty . And that tie conduct which the Irish Attorney-G = neral is pursuing in the present state trials is highly censurable . " Mr . Ross seconded ths motion , and it was carried unanimously . Mr . Anderson moved and Mr . Ibbetsan seconded— " That the foregoing resolutions be sent to the Northern Star and Nation
newspapers with a request to the Editors to insert them . A vote cf tbsnks was carried by acclamation to the lecturer , ai : d tbe meeting separated , both English and Irish declaring that all differences between them should henceforth cease .
