There Is No Use Now For Our Patron Saint...
fathers . Erin implores Britannia to aid her—Britannia , so strong , so just . Thus appealed to , it is Britannia ' s duty to fill St . Patrick ' s place . With the strong arm murder must be beaten down and crushed into the dust ; with the strong arm Fenianism , the cause of murder , must be cast forth back to that wretched mushroom land from whence it came . To that land where thieves make the best merchants , and rowdies the most successful politicians . With the strong arm Orangeism must be stamped out . With the strong arm Ribbandism must be suppressed . The cries of widows and orphans hava reached the shores of Albion , and Britannia must not , dare not , turn a deaf ear to the soul-piercing wail . Justice for Ireland , and mercy for Ireland . Yes , but the justice that hangs the " tumbler" to the gallows , that sends the traitor to the hulks—the mercy that preserves men ' s lives from the murderer ' s knife , or terribly avenges their foul assassination .

A HOLfDAY FOR HALLIJDAY .
Since The First Appearance Of This Paper...
Since the first appearance of this paper , Tomahawk has never found an occasion for praising his old opponent , Mr . Andrew Halliday , the Hon . Sec . of the Savage Club . It may be that Mr . Halliday has never given TomaHAWK the opportunity , or ( what is more probable ) it may be that TOMAHAWK has never searched for one . However this may be , Tomahawk has great pleasure in announcing to the world that Mr . Halliday ' s comedy , now playing- at the " New Royalty Theatre , " and entitled Love ' s Doctor , is one of the prettiest and best written pieces ever produced . Tomahawk sincerely congratulates the author upon his success , and trusts that that success may prove to be an evergreen .
